Gravetye Manor Vlog and Review


hello everybody welcome to my channel
and welcome to this vlog on Gravetye Manor now this is just
Gravetye Manor we’re just driving up to here, you can see the fantastic views in Sussex. It’s situated near West
Hoathly and it sits in one thousand acres of
wooded parkland in gardens and its famous because the gardens were created by William Robinson he was arguably one of England’s the
greatest gardeners can see just there it’s now owned by the Pride of Britain
hotels chain It is only about 12 miles from
Gatwick Airport and thirty miles from the center of London
and we’re just driving toward the Elizabethan manor it’s from the
16th century and it’s absolutely exquisite the quality of the hospitality the fine wines mixed with the exquisite foods Hi there everybody, so here I am in West Sussex very near East Grinstead and this is our bedroom it’s absolutely beautiful the huge bed and I love the attention to detail they’ve even put out a plumb and a couple of apples lovely facilities in here Nespresso machine very lovely teas and a fantastic little touch I think is that they’ve got Murray Mints here a card and lovely flowers yeah just sort of saying welcome
basically which is really pretty so it’s lovely and that’s a beautiful view the grounds are
absolutely fantastic this is the bathroom ensuite and here I’m just walking through the main
hallway you can see that quintessential English
country house’s charm is just evident in the wood paneling and
open fires absolutely fantastic I’m just walking out to
have a spot of lunch into one of their patios where they serve lunch and drinks
and things like that can see the absolutely fantastic sweeping countryside views and
so I’m just making my way towards my table my husband ordered dressed south coast
crab with garlic mayonnaise and gem lettuce for lunch and I had
seared wood pigeon breast served with bramble berries and sorrel. It was just fantastic it was light and
refreshing and just right and it’s such a lovely
hot day Here, I’m just taking you
through to the truly enchanting gardens and they have a lovely winding pathways
and abundant flower beds all designed in the style William
Robinson he was the father of the English Natural Garden and also a former owner of the estate. “So, let’s start our adventure then we’re just entering into the gardens here as you can see, this is l the beautiful flower garden there’ a croquet lawn an azalea bank aswell and my aim is to take you into the kitchen
garden because that’s what my channel is all about, “Healthy Lifestyle Recipes” about healthy ingredients and natural organic food and things
like that the kitchen garden I’m just going to show you around Let’s go! you see there’ s rhubarb artichokes peas strawberries here purple sprouting broccoli Beetroot City!! They have a lovely section
with beautiful flowering trees trees and there’s a magnolia tree there absolutely stunning beautiful so we decided to have around
of croquet Here goes! very delightful. The staff absolutely excellent – very well trained. “This is
the peaceful dining room where we’re having 10 course taster menu so I’ll show you what that’s
like first course is confit hen’s yolk and garden salad and marinated root
vegetable the second one with hand dived scallops with heritage carrot
and spiced carrot cake now my husband isn’t a huge fan carrots to what he’s doing is moving
the carrots into my plate just the way that all the flavors and
textures and tastes combine now the head chef is George Blogg who
was appointed as new chef in 2014 now it’s on
to the mains the first main is lemon sole with cauliflower textures pomegranate. It was absolutely fantastic
the quinoa was just very crunchy just really right and it was just really refreshing with
the pomegranate and lemon sole onto my second serving of pigeon
for the day this is carved crown and fagot of squab pigeon with smoked mashed potato
Baby beetroot fennel and anise jus absolutely delightful very gamey
very very rich but it was too dark to film
and then to finish off our meal we had petit fours and this lovely
